Defense Management 2024

DM is a strategic  issue for defence forces. This course endeavors to introduce future commanders and staff to the various issues and challenges of management in contemporary defence organisations. Officers need to recognize that defence resources are often limited and its allocation is an economic problem of choice. These require a thorough understanding of the economic environment of defence, budgetary issues, acquisition of capital assets, capability development and its management. Other aspects which relate to resources management such as the application of operations research techniques, employment of private military contractors and, ethics and governance in defence will also be discussed.

Strategic Studies and Security Affairs in Asian Region

The aim of this course is to ensure CP acquire and understand the various key concepts in strategic studies, different tools  of strategy, and the strategic history of international relations with an emphasis on Asia. CP will also be taught on key security issues in Asia based on regional themes namely Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and Indo-Pacific. The strategic rivalry between major powers such as United States  (US) and China in the region and its implications will also be assessed. these knowledge and skills will enable the CP to build an intellectual framework of understanding to analyse the practice of strategy and key security issues in Asia
